Windows 11 successor could already be in the works

Windows 11 could be changed by Windows 12, and Microsoft would possibly begin work on the new working system as quickly as subsequent month, based on the rumor mill. So, first off, don’t simply put your skeptical hat on for this one – possibly additionally don a cardigan of warning, and, er, waistcoat of wariness – as a result of that is critically sketchy hypothesis.

It comes from German tech web site Deskmodder.de, as noticed by Tom’s Hardware (which notes that what appeared to be a corroborating tweet from Swift on Security turned out to be a joke – a reasonably apparent one too – although the unique rumor nonetheless stands). According to the web site’s inside supply, Microsoft will start work on the successor to Windows 11 in March.Deskmodder observes that Microsoft has already been recruiting workers to work on this theoretical Windows 12, however that the OS could nonetheless be a good distance off, as a result of it’s being constructed from ‘scratch’ or near it.Yes, the different essential declare right here is that whereas Windows 11 remains to be very a lot Windows 10 below the hood in some ways, Windows 12 will be a really completely different beast from the ground-up. Apply more warning at this level, naturally…

Analysis: How doubtless is Windows 12, actually?

If that is the case as outlined above, and we’re taking a look at an all-new model of Windows, probably known as Windows 12, then it should certainly be a good distance down the street. It’s clearly a significant endeavor to construct the OS successfully from ‘scratch’, or a minimum of to revamp it with a very completely different core to that shared by Windows 10 and 11.This isn’t a rumor we’re satisfied by, in all honesty, and we’ll want to listen to it from more sources than Deskmodder earlier than we start to be offered on the thought that there's a next-gen Windows that work is actually about to start on. Though if that's the case, clearly we are going to hear additional rumors quickly sufficient, so we will anticipate to know more of the reality behind this hypothesis with out a lot of a wait. What could, after all, be taking place right here is that somebody has the unsuitable finish of the stick someplace, and whereas an enormous undertaking might be about to kick off in March at Microsoft, which will merely be the subsequent main incarnation of Windows 11.

Ultimately, that is all guesswork, however we wouldn’t actually anticipate a Windows 12 to be in the pipeline for something like the close to future. But then once more, we didn’t anticipate Windows 11 both (primarily as a result of Microsoft had mentioned Windows 10 was the remaining model, ever).
