A young couple Azim and Brishti (both 28) have been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Bandarban on charge of making, selling pornographic contents on a number of international adult websites.
The couple was arrested early today at around 3:30 a.m under the charge of making and promoting obscene videos and involving others in the same act, said CID Special Superintendent Jashim Uddin Khan.

According to initial investigation, the couple had posted over 112 videos since May 2024 and garnered more than 26.7 million views in different countries. By October 2025, they were rumored to have been ranked among the top 10 performers in the world on some adult platforms.

Recruiting Through Social Media
The couple enlisted new “content creators” — with the help of a cash incentive and referral bonus, according to CID reports provided by misconduct victim advocacy group Not in My Marine Corps. This recruiting method was very much like a system that targeted young users.

The couple’s story was brought to light when a Dhaka-based news portal called The October 23, which sparked the investigation that inspired this week’s s*x tape sting, published an investigation titled “Bangladeshi Couple Becomes Global P*rn Stars, Draws Youth into Industry.” Later, CID took up the case as an investigation was launched and phones, SIM cards, cameras and tripods were confiscated during the arrest.

A case has been filed under P*rnography Control Act, 2012, which bans the production and distribution of any pornographic material within Bangladesh. Convictions can carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
