Ras Al Khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah Police have closed down a minimum of 25 social media accounts that have been getting used to advertise sale and consumption of drugs within the emirate, mentioned Major Abdel (*25*) Al-Shirawi, Head of Anti-Narcotics Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police.

According to RAK Police, the drug sellers and traffickers have been making an attempt to evade the police and promote unlawful substances by their private social media accounts. Police mentioned the Anti-Narcotics Department has set-up an digital drug management patrol group that screens social media accounts for such actions. The director-general of the division mentioned the group coordinates with the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to dam and shut down social networking accounts and web sites discovered violating the legislation.
