Proposal to call Inexperienced Park Stadium pavilion after Suresh Raina

Former Indian team batsman Suresh Raina is going to represent his home state Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He also participated in the camp organized by Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) which ended on Tuesday. The 10-day camp was held at the Kamala Club and ended at the Green Park Stadium and it was a coincidence that the commissioner visited this historic venue on this day. A source told that it was proposed to name the pavilion of the Green Park Stadium after Raina. The proposal has gone to the Uttar Pradesh government as the stadium is with the state government.

Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August this year. A few days ago, he shared a photo of him training with the players of Uttar Pradesh team at Kamla Club. Raina, who was part of the 2011 World Cup winning team, has also not played IPL this time. He has been away from professional cricket for a year.

The BCCI said that India’s domestic season Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starts on January 10. The final will be played on 31 January. The board will decide on the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy during the group round of this domestic T20 tournament.
