The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on June 3 stated that the monsoon arrived in Kerala two days not on time. It arrives in Kerala first earlier than masking the remainder of India by July. The arrival of the monsoon is essential to India’s farm-dependent financial system. On June 1, IMD stated monsoon rainfall was prone to be regular at 101% of the long-period common (LPA) after two years of above-average rainfall. LPA is the typical rainfall (88cm) recorded in India yearly between June and September from 1961 to 2010.
