Market Update: STI down by 0.21%

The Straits Times Index (STI) closed on Wednesday down by 8.51 points or 0.27% at 3,179.39.

About 1.53-billion securities worth S$1.01b changed hands, and despite the main index closing with losses, stock advancers outnumbered decliners, 242 to 230.

The worst performers for the day were SATS, which decreased by 1.15% or $4.30, ComfortDelGro which lowered by 1.12% or $1.76, and UOL Group with a 1.01% or $7.83 loss.
