Jaipur Man Beats Mother to Death Over WiFi Argument

This is a very sad and shocking video from Jaipur, Rajasthan. What is shown in the screenshot is only 1/5th of the entire incident recorded on video.

On the bed is a woman, Santosh Devi, who happens to be the mother of the man holding the stick, Navin Singh. The man attempting to interfere is his husband and their daughter also tries to intervene in the attack.” But Navin continues to beat his mother incessantly, using a log as well as his fists.

The episode is said to have taken place on September 15. At about 2:00 PM, Navin and his mother got into a fight over a WiFi connection. While arguing, Santosh Devi told him to fetch a gas cylinder. This made Navin furious and he took a stick and started hitting her.

Her husband and daughter worked frantically to save her, but he did not stop. He kept beating her until she passed out.

A History of Violence

The woman recording the incident is heard crying, “I’ve been saying since 2016 that he’s a criminal!” It is reported that Navin is a drug addict. Married in 2020, his wife divorced him within five months for use and domestic violence. Another case of dowry harassment is registered against him in Bulandshahr, UP.

Santosh Devi was rushed to the hospital by family members but she had already died. Injuries to the head were cited as the cause of death.

Police Action & Statement

As per a compliant by the victim’s brother in law Om Pal Singh, police have arrested Navin.

"Prasad had a love affair with the victim after he separated from his wife. The bride’s late husband was in the military and her husband now serves in the Delhi Police. They had a fight that morning. He had hit his mother on the head with a stick due to which she died, as mentioned in the post-mortem report. A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the IPC.

The early details point to a fight breaking out over a dispute that involves the household, and this time regarding a gas cylinder. Police have taken the accused into custody.
