Girl, 5, has part of finger amputated after injuring it while using hand dryer 'without a vent covering' at ION Orchard

SINGAPORE: A five-year-old lady needed to have part of one of her fingers amputated after she injured it using a hand dryer "without a vent covering" at ION Orchard shopping center.Her father Nick Chia advised CNA that his daughter Kara was discharged from hospital on Friday (Dec 10) after spending greater than three days in hospital following the incident.The household had gone to ION Orchard on Monday evening when the lady needed to go to the bathroom after dinner.Together with a helper, the lady went to the bathroom at Basement 4 of the shopping center, subsequent to the Awfully Chocolate retailer.The helper was washing her fingers subsequent to Kara, who reached up to make use of the hand dryer.Her index finger was "mangled" by fan blades within the dryer, mentioned Mr Chia in a Facebook publish on Friday.
