Drake and Live Nation to Open New Concert Venue in Toronto

Drake and Live Nation Canada will open History, a brand new live-entertainment venue in the celebrity rapper’s hometown of Toronto, later this 12 months, the corporate introduced Tuesday (June 8).

“Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History,” Drake in a press release.  “I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans.”

According to the announcement, the two,500-capacity venue will “offer artists a versatile and intimate destination to perform and connect with fans in Toronto,” and plans to host 200 concert events and occasions yearly.

“We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible,” stated Michael Rapino, President and CEO, Live Nation Entertainment.

“History will offer guests up-close experiences with their favourite artists that are unrivaled in Toronto.  We take pride in and expect History to become an important part of the community,” stated Riley O’Connor, Chairman, Live Nation Canada.

History has been in improvement for over three years, with development scheduled to be full later this summer time.  The venue is located in the east finish of the town, in the center of the Beaches neighborhood at 1663 Queen Street East.
