DokeV: what we know so far
Want to maintain on top of things on DokeV? Here's all the pieces we know concerning the sport so far.
Genre shift
DokeV was initially billed as an MMO (massively multiplayer on-line) title when it was introduced in 2019. However, plans appear to have modified at Pearl Abyss, with the developer shifting away from the MMO format to a extra conventional motion journey.
The official DokeV Twitter account put this in no unsure phrases:
#DokeV was initially launched as an MMO, however we determined to maneuver the sport in a special course and it is now a creature-collecting open world action-adventure.But no matter style, we're going for enjoyable, vibrant, and adventurous! ????☂️August 25, 2021
This shift away from the MMO format has been fairly divisive within the tweet's replies. The MMO side was the factor many individuals have been most wanting ahead to. Others felt just like the extra centered method may result in a greater, extra polished sport.
If you need our two cents, the MMO house is already deeply aggressive. So a lot so that it is genuinely troublesome for any MMO to realize a long-lasting foothold within the house. With style giants like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14 and the upcoming New World on the block, any budding new MMO would critically should impress to make a reputation for itself within the house.

DokeV's shift to an "open-world action adventure" might be factor for the sport's longevity. It's now not competing for consideration amongst different MMO titans, and it is free to be its personal factor with out the style's preconceptions.
Creature accumulating?
Note the emphasis on "creature collecting" within the tweet above. As seen within the trailer, there's every kind of wacky, splendidly designed creatures who'll aid you out in fight.
According to the official web site, these creatures are often called Dokebi, and the weird designs vary from an alarm clock with headphones on (sure, actually) to a panda/polar bear hybrid carrying a pair of boxing gloves. So peak character design, mainly.
Judging from the trailer, Dokebi look to be saved in tiny prismatic discs, and could be unleashed throughout fight encounters. Each look to have their very own talents that can aid you out in numerous methods, so we think about choosing the proper Dokebi for the job will usually be key to success.
Traversal
We noticed a surprisingly various quantity of traversal choices within the DokeV trailer. Your character is ready to transfer on foot, as anticipated, but additionally on hoverboards, bicycles, and even a automobile. You may also soar by way of the air, Fortnite-style, by way of a deployable parasol, which we think about shall be helpful for attending to particular locations on the map quick.
Multiplayer?
Given the shift away from the MMO style, it stays up within the air as as to if DokeV will function multiplayer elements of any sort. The trailer appears to indicate that we'll nonetheless be capable to hang around with pals in restricted capacities, however we will not know for certain till extra particulars are launched.
The trailers so far have featured many points that one may affiliate with a extra social expertise, equivalent to fishing, flying kites and hanging out on a seaside. We'd wish to assume that some co-operative experiences or hangouts will nonetheless be obtainable to strive in DokeV when it releases.
