The film stars Rajkummar Rao (as Shardul Thakur, a policeman) and Bhumi Pednekar (as Suman “Sumi” Singh, a physical education teacher) as a couple in a lavender marriage. Seema Pahwa, Loveleen Mishra, Sheeba Chaddha, Nitesh Pandey, and others also acted as the co-cast.
The film’s story follows when Suman tied the knot with a cop, Shardul Thakur to escape the pressure of their families for marriage. They live like roommates in a lavender marriage arrangement. The chaos ensues when Suman’s girlfriend comes to stay with them while increasing pressure from families of having a baby further complicates things.
The music of the film was composed by Amit Trivedi, Tanishk Bagchi, Ankit Tiwari, and Khamosh Shah while lyrics were written by Varun Grover, Vayu, Anurag Bhumia, Azeem Shirazi, and Anvita Dutt.
