What makes it cool: It’s run by other kids, specifically your favorite cool babysitters.
The real camp location: Los Angeles, California
Did you know: The Baby-Sitters Club is based on the best-selling Baby-Sitters Club book series, specifically adapting parts of Kristy and The Baby ParadeMary Anne and Camp BSC

The Parent Trap (1998)
Cast: Lindsey Lohan (times two), Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson
The movie camp: Camp Walden
What makes it cool: You might just find your long lost twin in the next cabin over.
The real camp location: Camp Seely, outside of Los Angeles
Did you know: This was Lindsey Lohan’s first movie, and she beat out the likes of a young Scarlett Johansson and Michelle Trachtenberg for the part.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012)
Cast: Zachary Gordon, Steve Zahn, Robert Capron
The movie camp: Camp Chipanook
What makes it cool: True camping (without modern conveniences) as a member of the Wilderness Explorers may be rough, but it’s a lot better than attending a military academy.
The real camp location: Minaty Bay in British Columbia, Canada
Did you know: This was the third movie based on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and the last feature with Zachary Gordon in the lead — he also appeared in a Wimpy Kid short film right after this.

Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)
Cast: Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld
The movie camp: The Lodge of Fallen Leaves (a.k.a. Aca-Camp)
What makes it cool: Unlike other team-building retreats, this one encourages a-capella singalongs while you work.   
The real camp location: Camp Istrouma in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana
Did you know: President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama did not actually participate in the filming of Pitch Perfect 2. Their cameo appearance was created with repurposed footage from the 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors in 2013.

Daddy Day Camp (2007)

The movie camp: Camp Driftwood
What makes it cool: Even the smallest ragtag bunch of underdogs attending Driftwood have a chance at winning the annual olympiad against other nearby camps.

Did you know: Daddy Day Camp is the feature directorial debut of former child actor Fred Savage, star of The Wonder Years.

Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005)

What makes it cool: There’s plenty of room for even the largest of families — and if you run into another big fam across the lake, you can start a competitive rivalry in time for the Annual Labor Day Family Cup.
The real camp location: Stony Lake in Ontario, Canada
Did you know: The Cheaper by the Dozen movies are based on the real-life Gilbreth family, which had twelve children all born in the early 20th century.

What makes it cool: The ice cream sundae food fights.

Did you know: The plot was inspired by Mark Twain’s The Prince and the Pauper.
