Australian head coach Justin Langer has said that the absence of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami in the Boxing Day Test match against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will benefit the Australian team. The second test starts on Saturday. The Test match which starts from 26 December is known as Boxing Day Test Match.

Justin Langer said on Thursday that it is obvious that no matter what sport you are playing, if you do not have two star players then it will be a loss. Justin Langer said that Virat Kohli is one of the greatest players of all time. I think Mohammed Shami is a strong link to the Indian bowling attack. He is very worthy. Certainly we will benefit from this .. But we have to continue to work hard and follow the process. We feel that we have to start strong from day one. We know that we have to put pressure on Rahane, if he is the new captain of India. So there will be no change in the process. The first Test played at Adelaide Oval was won by Australia by eight wickets. Australia were behind for the first two days of this match. India had taken a lead of 53 runs on this and in the second innings, it came with the same lead. But in the second innings, the Australian bowlers showed their dominance and piled on India for just 36 runs, which was their lowest score in an innings of the Test.
