Increasingly, hackers are using social media platforms like X in order to redirect users to dubious websites where they promise that they will be able to view naked celebrity photos and videos.

The 'Sydney Sweeney Leaked Nudes' scams spread malware by posing as Sydney Sweeney

There has been a recent episode, which is being used to spread malicious software, known as 'Sydney Sweeney leaked nudes'.

In addition to being taken to sites with explicit content, naive users who click on such dubious links are also exposed to security risks as they may be taken to sites with explicit content.

There has been a history of such incidents happening in the past, so this is not the first occurrence. On X, there was a viral trend of AI-generated Taylor Swift images a couple of days ago.

It is surprising to learn that X has not taken any measures to block such content from appearing on its platform, which is quite surprising.

In the long run, the spread of malware through the use of fictitious websites that promise naked pictures and videos of celebrities has not been a new phenomenon and has been carried out for a very long time.

Apparently, cybercriminals have been exploiting the "Sydney Sweeney leak" trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) to redirect its users to dubious websites and then infect their computers with malware as a result.

The users believe that X, being a reputed social site, will not contain any such malware, which is not true. There are reports that a short clip with a number of links is being displayed on X.

However, X has removed the link. However, many have questioned the delay in removing the links and the generally lenient attitude of X on such incidents.

The video clip on the post has blurred images which suggest explicit content. The post further suggests the user click on the links, which will take them to the website with the actress’ leaked videos. However, the blurred images are taken from other porn sites and are meant to generate curiosity in the user and provoke him to click.

The links take the user to suspect sites and make them susceptible to malware attacks.

The actress appeared on TV, raising her profile. The fraudsters are using this opportunity to carry out their agenda. The websites triggered warnings from antivirus software on the computers, highlighting the increased threats associated with the websites.

As already mentioned, explicit AI-generated images of Taylor Swift were used to spread malware, and the post garnered more than 45 million views before it was taken down.
