SMEs to get research support to promote innovation

This is part of the federal government’s bid to have all enterprise sectors emerge stronger post-pandemic.

Small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) could also be offered analysis recommendation by folding them into current authorities programmes.

In response to Second Minister for Commerce and Trade Tan See Leng, the federal government “will proceed to help SMEs that lack entry to analysis expertise by the Know-how for Enterprise Functionality Upgrading (T-Up) programme.”

“Underneath T-Up, A*STAR seconds analysis expertise to SMEs to boost their innovation capabilities,” Leng mentioned through the Trade Committee of Provide debate on 2 March.

He additionally mentioned SMEs may also avail of the Innovation Advisors programme and its community of exports from varied fields.

“We will continue to support our enterprises, including SMEs, to benefit from R&D and innovation, particularly in areas that have delivered outsized returns,” he added.
