Sheikh Mohammed lauds Mariamma Varkey’s contribution to UAE education

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has lauded the position of UAE’s pioneering educator Mariama Varkey who handed away just lately.

“Mariamma Varkey moved to Dubai together with her husband in 1959. Pushed by an everlasting ardour for training, she began tens of faculties with hundreds of scholars inside and Outdoors UAE. Mariamma just lately handed away, forsaking a legacy of training in UAE and past,’ Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

Mariamma was a former instructor from Kerala in India who moved to Dubai together with her husband Okay.S. Varkey in 1959. They based Our Personal English Excessive College in 1968, the primary faculty beneath the group which was established by the couple’s son Sunny Varkey in 2000.
