Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2021 – students are invited to join this year’s competition and win more than $110,000 worth of prizes

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition returns to Singapore for its fifth version. With the aim of sparking revolutionary concepts amongst students in Singapore, the competition encourages conceptualising inclusive and revolutionary options that tackle key challenges within the communities and positively impression society.

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow can also be a platform for youths to crystalise their societal issues, categorical their need for a change, and execute their imaginative and prescient for a greater future. 

Furthermore, Samsung seeks to encourage youths to faucet on this alternative to develop and improve delicate expertise vital for the long run office, together with communications, collaboration, vital pondering and creativity.

There are 4 themes for this year’s Solve for Tomorrow competition:

• Environmental Sustainability – Encourage youth to develop daring options to tackle our most urgent environmental points and construct a sustainable future.
• Digital Inclusion for Seniors – Inspire individuals to discover revolutionary options to strengthen the silver era’s digital literacy and entry to expertise.
• Health & Wellness – Spur youths to suggest artistic options that may allow Singaporeans to enhance their bodily and psychological wellbeing to lead more healthy, more balanced existence.
• Preparing for the Future of Work – Galvanise individuals to take into consideration refreshing digital options that assist youths purchase related expertise and business experiences and put together them for the long run office.

Each theme addresses completely different points that youths are involved about and will function a guidepost for individuals to develop their concepts and options.

The competition registration window will start at present and shut on 7 November 2021. Interested students can take part within the competition by forming teams of two to 4 and submit their concepts or options right here.

There are two classes for Solve for Tomorrow 2021:

• Post-Secondary Level: Full-time students aged 16 years previous and above, enrolled in both a Junior College, Polytechnic, Institute of Technical Education, and the Millennia Institute in Singapore
• University Level: Full-time undergraduates aged 18 years previous and above, enrolled in any of the six publicly funded autonomous universities in Singapore, specifically:
  • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
  • National University of Singapore (NUS)
  • Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
  • Singapore Management University (SMU)
  • Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
  • Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

A complete of 20 groups (10 groups from every class) shall be shortlisted. Each staff will obtain $800 in money and coaching alternatives to assist them refine their concepts and improve their presentation via improvement programs or workshops.

Out of these 20 groups, 10 groups (5 from every class) shall be chosen to current within the finale occasion in December 2021 in opposition to a panel of judges. The high three groups from every class shall be awarded:

First Prize for Category 1 and Category 2:

• $10,000 worth of Samsung merchandise
• $5,000 money prize
• A 4D3N journey to Seoul, South Korea
• Solve for Tomorrow – Insider Tour @ Samsung

Second Prize for Category 1 and Category 2:

• $8,000 worth of Samsung merchandise
• $3,000 money prize

Third Prize for Category 1 and Category 2:

• $6,000 worth of Samsung merchandise
• $1,000 money prize
