Transgenders are a marginalized community in Kashmir whose members are sometimes solely in a position to discover work as matchmakers or wedding ceremony leisure. Prolonged coronavirus lockdowns, preceded by a strict safety lockdown within the area in 2019 when India scrapped Kashmir's semi-autonomous standing, left many within the transgender community with no work in any respect, many of them make-up artists, singers and matchmakers who've misplaced their livelihoods through the pandemic.
