North Central Zone Registers Highest-Ever Growth In Freight Loading, Revenue In June Quarter

The North Central Railway zone registered the best ever progress in freight loading and assortment of income by freight operations within the April-June quarter of the monetary 12 months 2021-22. During the primary quarter of the present fiscal 12 months, the originating freight loading stood at 4.32 million tonnes, in comparison with 3.24 million tonnes within the corresponding interval of final 12 months, marking a progress of 33.3 per cent year-on-year for the north-central zone.

During the three months, the originating good earnings stood at Rs 437.57 crore, in comparison with Rs 352.33 crore in the identical interval final 12 months, recording a progress of 24.19 per cent year-on-year. The railway zone witnessed a big improve within the loading of cement, containers, fly ash, amongst others. 

The nationwide transporter lately introduced its freight loading figures for June 21, registering a rise of 20.37 per cent year-on-year to 112.65 million tonnes. Its' freight loading for a similar month final 12 months stood at 93.59 million tonnes. Moreover, in June 2021, the sector registered its highest-ever freight loading in 10 months - between September 2020 - June 2021.

Indian Railways earned ₹ 1,11,86.81 crore from freight loading final month - 26.7 per cent greater, in comparison with the corresponding month final 12 months, when it earned ₹ 8,829.68 crore. In the monetary 12 months 2020-21, Indian Railways registered double-digit progress in freight visitors and a ten per cent improve in freight loading, in comparison with the earlier fiscal 2019-20.
