The energy was electric. There are drums, dancing and the air is filled with chants of “Bam Bam Bhole. It was less a religious gathering than the world’s most prominent wedding party. And in a way, it was.
We were all in attendance at the wedding of deities. Marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
That joy and surrender has found its rightful voice, this Mahashivratri. Hansraj Raghuwanshi’s recent song, ‘Mahadev Ki Shadi Hai,’ is creating a stir in the spiritual space. It just captures the essence of a wedding like nothing else. At sociallykeeda We think this song is the anthem you'll need for your Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations.
Let’s unpack why this song is important, what it means to its devotees, and — naturally — deliver the full lyrics so you can bellow along.

Hansraj Raghuwanshi has a voice that conveys devotion and strength. With hit tracks including “Shiv Tandav Strotam,” he brings that same energy here. But this time, there’s a difference.
This is not a song about the wild, destructive side of Shiva. This is about the groom. The "Dulha Raja."
The song was released in the beginning of 2025 and soon became a popular number at weddings and Shivratri congregations. It combines Sanskrit shlokas with contemporary wedding beats. Feel No Sorry, already a hit in the U.K.-based DJ circuit, is set to become a dancefloor staple across the board thanks to music by Rattan Sidhu and lyrics by Raviraj.
"Iss Mahadev Ki Vivaah Hai, Nachna Bhi Toh Banta hai"
Translation: “My Mahadev is getting married, we have to dance!”
And that is the spirit of Mahashivratri. It's the evening to dance with devotion.”
Shivratri 2026: Night of the Cosmic Concertाधो′ष्ट #Mahashivratri 11 March, 2026 Clear your Calendars Bring on the Fire t.co/zvSzS1M3ne
This year, though, the timing could not be better. Mahashivratri is on February 15, 2026.
As the Hindu calendar go, the Chaturdashi Tithi starts at 5:04 PM on February 15 and ends at 5:34 PM on February 16. The best time for the main ceremony, or the Nishita Kaal Puja, is anywhere from 12:09 AM to 1:01 AM during the night of February 15 .
But that’s not what makes 2026 so special. Astrologers credit a rare planetary alignment. This year, Sun is in conjunction with Mercury, Venus and Rahu in Aquarius. This results in a Chaturgrahi Yog formation which repeats after a period of almost 300 years.
According to experts, this alignment gives spiritual growth a boost. The energy is great here for meditation, prayer and having a good time. This is the night to chant Shiva’s name and dance to tunes like ‘Mahadev Ki Shadi Hai’.
What makes Hansraj’s song enjoyable is the it paints a picture of the wedding party. Describing Lord Shiva's "Barat" (bridegroom's procession) in a manner that all of us can relate to.
The words discuss how Shiva has his own special crew with him. The ghost and spirits (Bhuton Pareto Ko Laya Saath Mein). It reimagines them dancing and enjoying the wedding the same way we do now at family weddings.
Such imagery renders the divine personal. It drags the gods down to our ground. We can put ourselves within that procession. We are the “barati” (wedding guests).
The song says something about the world-wide-icity of this wedding. Tino Lok Rahe Naach Hai, RishiMuni “Countless dances based on all three worlds do rishis and munis”. Wise people, deities and the entire three worlds are dancing. This is a cosmic phenomenon, and everyone’s invited.
So to really get this song, we have to know what it is that we are celebrating. Mahashivratri celebration is held on the marriage day of Shiva and Parvati. It is divine consciousness blended with divine energy.
But there is a second, powerful legend. Shiv Purana describes a story when Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma were fighting for supremacy. All of a sudden, in front of them, was a huge column of fire. It was infinite in both direction of time.
Vishnu incarnated as a boar and descended to the underworld Paataala, thus is worshiped in Kerala temples. Lord Brahma transformed into a swan and soared towards its vertex. Neither could find the end. Vishnu accepted his limitations. But Brahmā lied and said that he had been to the end.
Lord Shiva appeared as a pillar of fire at that time. The pillar, he said was the Shivling. It says that he is eternal, that he has no beginning, and no end. He is infinite.
This is why the Shivling gets worshipped. This is also the lack of form and forever life cycle of the Lord Shiva. It learns us the worth of truth. Brahma was punished for lying and Vishnu lauded for his honesty.
If you’d like to get the spirit of “Mahadev Ki Shadi Hai,” here’s how.
First, understand the timing. So, the night is also divided in four stages viz “prahars” or phases:
Special puja is carried out during each prahar by the devotees. You can also observe a fast. The following day, February 16, the fast is broken after sunrise.
When you arrange your puja thali, it should contain the elements which represent various modes in which a sincere devotion could manifest :
Belpatra (Bilva Leaves): You cannot do without them. They are a symbol of the three eyes of Shiva.
Dhatura and Bhang: Linked to Shiva as usual. They represent the conqueror of fear and worldliness.
Bhasma (Vibhuti): The holy ash signifies that all things material are temporary.
Camphor: It burns entirely and represents the ego burning out into the divine.
When giving these, recite the “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra. Feel the connection. You can pretend to be a party guest at the celestial nuptial.
And why do songs like these go viral? Why do millions watch them?
Because music is a bridge. It links the head to the heart. A difficult philosophical concept can be hard to get a grip on. But on the theme of Mahadev’s wedding on a catchy tune? Everyone gets that.
Hansraj Raghuwanshi and Raviraj have played a smart trick. They have mastered the art of repackaging Shiv Vivah, an age-old concept and made it song-friendly for today’s mores. It is a song that remains deeply rooted in the tradition but with an ear to contemporary music styles.
The lines “Itna To Chalta Hai, Shambhu” are sheer genius. It says, "This is fine by you, Shambhu." It's got a playful, taunting sound to it. It is as though the devotees are pleading with Shiva to let them party in contemporary style. Play the DJ. Light firecrackers. Dance wildly.
And Shiva, the lord who is "Asutosh" (easily pleased) concurs. He allows it. Because at base, as it turns out, devotion is a question of love. And love takes many forms.
On Mahashivratri this time, let your love for Mahadev flow out! Dance if you want to. Sing at the top of your voice. Be a member of his wedding party.
Here are the full lyrics to the song. Sing along and join the celebration.
