Jakarta, Feb 20: A minimum of 52 amongst dozens of short-finned pilot whales stranded on a seashore in Indonesia’s East Java province died on Friday morning, native media reported.

“We are suspecting that a whale in the school was injured or sick, so the rest were following and guarding it. They ended up stranded until 52 were found dead this morning,” Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry spokesperson Wahyu Muryadi mentioned. Pilot Whale Discovered Lifeless on Indonesian Seashore of East Nusa Tenggara.

In line with him, as many as three whales within the group are anticipated to be alive, the Xinhua information company reported.

“We try to save them when the high tide comes,” Muryadi mentioned, including that authorities, veterinarians in addition to volunteers have been on the web site for inspections of the marine animals since Friday morning.
