New Delhi, February 3: Soon after it was introduced that the Indian diplomats in Beijing is not going to attend the opening and closing ceremony of the 2023 Beijing Winter Olympics (February 4-20) following reviews of China making a Galwan soldier one of many torchbearers for the quadrangular Games, Prasar Bharati introduced on Thursday that its DD Sports channel is not going to telecast reside the 2 ceremonies. "Consequent to the announcement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) @meaindia, @ddsportschannel will not telecast live the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics being held in Beijing," Shashi Shekhar Vempati, CEO, Prasar Bharati, tweeted. DD Sports Channel to Not Telecast Live Beijing Winter Olympics 2023 Opening And Closing Ceremonies. Shashi Shekhar Vempati Earlier on Thursday, the MEA had stated that it's regrettable that China has chosen to politicise the Olympics. "The Indian envoy will not attend the opening or closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics," MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated on reviews of China. The soldier in query, who has been recognized as Qi Fabao, is reportedly a regimental commander of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Fabao was grievously injured through the bloody conflict between the PLA and Indian troopers within the Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh in June 2020.
