COVID-19: Abu Dhabi first in world to receive Sotrovimab medication
1 min read

Abu Dhabi is the first place globally to receive a cargo of Sotrovimab, a brand new anti-COVID-19 medication that stops extreme sickness and loss of life in 85 per cent of circumstances handled early.

The transfer to receive the drugs was led by the Department of Health, in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline and Rafed, and following approval by the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Sotrovimab is an antibody therapy delivered via intravenous drip that can be utilized to deal with eligible sufferers aged 12 and over. It is efficient in opposition to all virus variants.

The medication is to be distributed by the Rafed Distribution Centre, the area’s largest cold-storage facility and a part of the Abu Dhabi-led Hope Consortium.
