AMD could launch its RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT and 6650 XT refreshed graphics playing cards on April 20, and the flagship reference card may be a black edition. This contemporary hypothesis from the GPU grapevine comes courtesy of Wccftech and Greymon55 (the latter being an lively {hardware} leaker on Twitter).

I forgot to say, it isn't a new design, it seems to be the identical because the 6800XT Black Edition.March 10, 2023

As you may see, the speculation is that the reference RX 6950 XT can be a black model of the cardboard, however received’t have a new design – it’ll apparently look similar to the present 6800 XT Midnight Black model.Wccftech has spoken to sources who've reasserted the April 20 launch date for the RX 6950 XT plus the opposite two RDNA 2 refreshes, and it’s now ‘confirmed’ not less than in accordance with the rumor mill – although of course we are able to’t take that as precise affirmation. That date was beforehand floated earlier this week by way of the Chiphell boards (and supposedly AMD’s new Ryzen 5800X3D processor can be unleashed on that date, too).As we’ve heard earlier than, the new ‘6x50’ spins on these Big Navi graphics playing cards can be differentiated with quicker VRAM (18Gbps), with efficiency additionally probably upped by clock speeds being pushed to greater ranges as properly (possibly to spice up speeds of 2.5GHz out of the field, or certainly more).

Analysis: How in regards to the inventory state of affairs – and is it higher to attend, anyway?

The huge query is, provided that the 6800 XT Midnight Black graphics card proved standard, what are your odds of having the ability to get maintain of a black edition reference board this time round? Probably not good given the state of affairs round provide points and element shortages, let’s face it – however there can be different fashions of this trio of revamped GPUs on sale by way of third-get together card producers. As Wccftech signifies, the latter is prone to characterize the bulk of launch inventory that’s initially accessible, however even getting maintain of one of these playing cards goes to be a battle, little question, within the present GPU local weather.Arguably, you may be higher off ready anyway, provided that the subsequent-gen RDNA 3 playing cards from AMD are usually not all that far off, with the expectation that they’ll arrive earlier than the tip of 2023. When you additionally issue within the prediction from AMD (and Nvidia) that GPU provide points will ease within the second half of 2023 – and worth inflation ought to be much less of an issue in consequence – taking part in the ready recreation for a Team Red graphics card actually appears a sound technique to make use of proper now.
